  • Define communism.

I have a simple survey for you. Define what communism is.
But please, don't scroll down, don't go to google or wikipedia, don't use a comparison or an example.
Just hit "post a new reply" and write what *you* think communism is. I'm really interested in your definitions.

A form of government which spreads corruption equally to all cities and distance to the capital does not matter. Also, two free units are supported by each city.

The outlaw of the ownership of private property especially real estate and private business replacing it with government/communal ownership of all means of production. Theoretically all profits from production would be used to improve social welfare or to expand production or to provide for the common defense. In reality this means a small political elite actually controls everything thus leaving the system wide open for abuse; abuse which historically repeatedly occured in communist countries. Also since a few people make all the real decisions it is extremely susceptible to human error should one of those individuals make the wrong choice. Much more so then a government system with checks and balances or where economic decisions are not concentrated in the hands of a few.

Then there's a problem with a lack of innovation due to a lack of profit motive for would be innovators. Communism has been tried dozens upon dozens of times and has always lead to failure, economic stagnation, and repression by the state.

communism is a word used to stir up rabble against some good ideas, and a system used to take some good ideas and use them to stir up rabble to support a bunch of crappy ideas.

That's an outdated theory you have here.

A political vision, first developed by V. Lenin, which envisioned the achievement of a socialist society specifically by means of a revolution led by a vanguard party organized on the principles of "democractic centralism".

It is NOT a reference to Marxism, despite the title of the Communist Manifesto. That is Marxian Socialism, or just plain Marxism. The usage of Communism to mean the ideology of hte Comm Man and other docs by Karl Marx, was already anachronistic in Marxs own lifetime.

A fortiori, it does not refer to non-Marxist forms of socialism.

Communism - Isn't it that democratic system where you disconnect your brain and vote for those you are told to vote for if you want to keep on living ?

Another mark is that you are willing to starve to death to ensure the survival of the upper cadres when food production fails.

Lastly, you of course finds it naturally to attack heavy armoured fortresses unarmed to defend communism.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Certain means and tools of production can't be privately owned but rather owned by the country, oops, I mean the people. That's my shortest definition. Not entirely accurate but good enough IMO.
