communism: derived from community.
A system where the means of production may not be owned by any individual or entity. Meaning that either the laborer or community as a whole, has rights to the resultant wealth creation.
To me, communism is compatible with private possessions, to the extent that those possessions are not means of production. The claim is a legal one, not an economic one, and stands so long as the individual is not greedy or spiteful in accumulating possessions, and in the case of land, makes use of that land for the betterment of the community.
communism is sometimes confused with Communism, which is completely different, yet differs only by the capitalization of the 'c'. This is useful for obfuscating issues and creating arguments where people are arguing about different things.
