mmmkay, now for my real response.

Valentine's week may be cold (probably cool for you guys). Usually December and Januarary is the coldest and wettest, and it starts slowly warming up in Feburary. Expect 50's or 60's in the day, 30's and 40's at night. If there's a storm, it will be cooler (almost never goes below 20). We're not too likely to get rain that month, but you never know...

Someone mentioned that if she doesn't like gambling, you could be screwed, but we have much more than gambling. And it's always fun teaching women to play blackjack and stuff. .

We do have a ski resort, but it isn't that great, but considering how close it is, you can't complain. So if you like skiing, there's that. The water temperature will be too cold for lake activities, unless you are just a masochist. But you can do some hiking around the lake. You can also do some hiking in Red Rock Canyon. As the name suggest, red sandstone rocks are the main attraction there. Mount Charleston will have hiking, but the snow may be deep in many places. Most people don't hike there in the winter.

We also have spas, I never knew what the deal with that are. But we have to compete with all the other hotels offering full spa/massage treatment. Just don't ask for a happy ending in a massage place in a hotel . You have to go to seedy joints for that. Shopping is pretty good I suppose. Fashion Show mall is right on the strip. And most major hotels now have their own shops that sell merchandise. I'm a man, and know nothing about shopping, so I can't comment any further on that.

Shows, those were already mentioned. I don't go to many shows as they are expensive and they really aren't my thing. But they are great for dates. I wonder if We Will Rock you is still going on. That is one show I was interested in, as they have Queen songs. Blue Man Group is supposed to be pretty good. I think the only show I have ever seen is Splash. It's been around a while, but still pretty good. They have a topless and a non topless version.

Fine dining. We have ****load of that. But I don't know anything about fine dining. I'm not very cultured . Just give me a good steak....

cruising the strip/getting drunk. There's that. I don't recommend drinking and driving/however. Find someone else to drive (not me ) Don't expect to actually cruise the strip. It's bumper to bumper traffic now days.

You can watch the volcano at the Mirage, the fountains at Bellagio (you should see these- good for dates), TI still has a show outside their place- but they moved away from the pirate theme for some reason. A few hotels have art galleries. The Wynn hotel has some small art gallery as you enter the door I'm told (haven't actually been there).

We don't have a lot of museums, most pertain to Nevada or Las Vegas history. And our zoo is kinda crappy, I don't recommend it, unless you like going into gangland to see it. Not the worst neighborhood we have, but not that great...

we have many trendy bars inside hotels and outside casinos now. So expect to pay a little more for drinks. But if you like trendy, we have it. And you'll find a decent selection of microbreweries around. We have a pretty good British pub that has a highly rated restaurant. But I didn't like British food, and didn't care for the food that much. We also have a german pub, and a billion Irish pubs around.

Then there's the adult world, but seeing as you are bringing a girlfriend, that won't be necessary. You can see an adult store if you want, but I'm sure you have them in Canada. They aren't prudes like the rest of the U.S.

We have several musical shows in addition to the physical performance shows. Celine Deion, though I'm sure you are happy to get her out of Canada, so you probably don't want to see her. And we have a decent selection of concerts come through house of blues and other places.

hmmm, what am I missing? not sure.
