                      Yes it does. Though "lingam" isn't used in teh same way as, say, teh inspiration behind "Dickus." It's a more technical/religious term, even though it means teh same thing.

                          My surname originated in northern England though my dad's family is from Scotland. From my researched family tree I know that my dad's family moved from northern England to Scotland in the early 18th century. The surname map of 1881 basically confirms that the name comes from northern England.

                          In 1881 it was the 21st most common last name in the UK and in 1998 it was the 25th most common surname. Only 0.24% of Scots have this surname so I'm likely related to most of them.
