It is still however frustrating that I had what I thought was a unique idea, only to discover a movie was released with a similar, though not identical premise. It is not very likely I will ever get my book published but if I did, I can already imagine it being described as "like The Man From Earth" which sucks, since I did not get any inspiration from that movie

Actually history tends to prove that it is the act of plagiarism or downright theft that is often the more successful venture after the 'original' idea has blazed its trail. So keep it up and don't get your head down...
