That's the way it always is with me. If I'm good, they never even know that I exist.

Come on now, let's get back to discussing how Vesayen has plagiarized Bixby.

Clearly we both came up with the idea on our own, since information on what he wrote was not even available to the public at all till the movie started being filmed and I began writing, before that.

Obviously he could not have copied my idea either since he was dead before I began writing.

Your attempt to spread malice and hatred has failed mobius, would you like a cookie now?

It is still however frustrating that I had what I thought was a unique idea, only to discover a movie was released with a similar, though not identical premise. It is not very likely I will ever get my book published but if I did, I can already imagine it being described as "like The Man From Earth" which sucks, since I did not get any inspiration from that movie

That's what sucks about original ideas; they have to be original! I mean wtf?!

I had this idea of a story about a Jewish boy who says that he's a savior and starts performing miracles and then they kill him on a cross, and he's all "haha, I told you you'd do this, I rule!" Apparently that story is already taken too!
                        Monkey!!!

Neither of us copied the other or was inspired by the other in any way. They were both original ideas at the time insofar as the ideas had not been released to the public.

The titles of threads on this forum often comical and not literally true.

Clearly what has happened is you read the title and not the actual original post where it states clearly that the title is not accurate.

There's nothing new under the sun, Vesayen.

It's okay that someone else has a story with a premise similar to yours. In fact, it's great. What this means is that you can watch that movie, see what's good in it, and figure out if you can incorporate any of the good ideas into your story.

There aren't really any original ideas left out there. The only thing you can really try to do is present old ideas in novel, interesting ways. Tell a good story and it doesn't matter if the story's been told before.
