Another week and another Republican Congressman is found to be gay. It's almost passe.

Short version: moustached Republican legislator (from WA state!) is secretly gay, has secret trysts with male prostitutes, secretly likes to wear lingerie, blah blah, you've heard this all before. State Rep. Curtis, not as practiced a hand as Larry Craig, accidentally lets slip that he works in gummint. Prostitute promptly blackmails him for one grand. Curtis goes to Spokane police with his story. Story leaks on internet. Yet another closeted dude's life ruined by his unfortunate penchant for low taxes and hawkish foreign policy!

Oh noes. a gay in gummint. Not sure which is worse, that stories like this leak onto the net, that people care they are gay, or that people even post them on forums.

You don't think it is notable that there are so many closeted gay men in a political party which is outspokenly anti-gay?

They hypocracy has been pointed out enough times, it's not needed anymore. I might accept that the majority of stupid people ie voters need to be constantly reminded of this but on Poly it is just a waste of a thread. We've discussed it enough times already, now it just makes the person who posts the story look like a partisan hack.

That's not the point. The Republican party is seen as anti-gay, yet seems to have many closet homosexuals. Worse, many of them tend to be vocally anti-gay. Then there's the child molesters.

No no, it's a failing on the republicans part. They've created the image of anti-gay with their policies and words. While I don't believe that all repugs are gay or gay bashers. Their party-line is clearly anti-gay.
