The defendant appealed the sentence, about a defect in procedure in the sentencing phase. Its a be careful what you ask for situation. The dumb**** thought today's judges and juries would be more lenient than the 1992 ones to a capital murder defendant who just stuck a gun to back of the cabbies head and shot him for an easier robbery.

So was the cabbie he shot in the back of the head, and the cabbies' family, friends, and neighbors, at both the trial and the sentencing rehearing, lauding the justice heaped upon this slime, and lamenting that the death penalty was off the table becasue of his age; they made quite a show on the channel 12 news ealier this week. Back when the crime was committed, we had every black preacher, political leader, and community leader in town demanding the first priority on the investigation, and the swiftest harshest justice available.

                uhh, he murdered someone maybe?

he took away someone else's life, therefore his should be taken away.

All murders should require life in prison. no exception (unless it's me )

No sympathy for murderers from me.

edit: I feel more outrage over posters who make outrage threads and never return after the op to rebut counterarguments.

He has a bit more history than just murder. He had been a gangbanger with the Crips and a drug dealer since he was 8 or 9, had already tried to murder one of drug buyers that had stiffed him, and had been in at least two gun battles with his Crips against other gangs, one of them where he does a drive by spryaing a bloods house with a Tec 9. He had several robberies and had previouly shot two of his robbery victims, one probably killed, but he did not check to see.

I am sure he had a great education and acess to the finest council, he sure knew what he was getting into, eh?

I don't know, if I was a poor black youth with at best a 5th grade education and my legal council was a public defender*/free legal aid, I am sure I would know what I was getting into! I could not say what sort of legal council he had but I can take a guess.

Lefty Scaevola, how do you know that? If that is the truth and he was doing it since he was 8 or 9, he clearly had no parental influence in his life.

The guy sounds like the poster child for "society forgot about me".

and what does the fact he's black have anything to do with this case?

don't pull the black card unless you can prove some racism in this case.

He knew what he was getting into with violence and weapons. In his previous criminal and gang activity, he had already seen 2 or more people killed, and several wounded.

are you sure you aren't trolling?

poor upbringing is no excuse for murder. Sadly, this kid will never be able to reform. Some people just have violent personalities.

If you what to google up more about him, I give his correct name. Its Edwin, not Edward as in the KSAT story you found, Edwin Carl Debrow Jr.
Here is as much of his history at he actually admits, and its pretty damn dirty, even told with as much spin and exculpation as he can muster. There is more out there. This guy would as soon blow away anybody not in the Crips, as look at them.
