Yes I have noticed that. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is what they do best.

AFAIK they don't get tie-breaking votes in the state senate

Some states do that. In some states, the Lt. Gov has a great deal of power within the State Senate, such as the bility to appointing committee members and chairs, referring legislation to specific committees, etc. In a lot of Southern states, power over the nuts of bolts of gov't was devolved to a bunch of elective (instead of appointive) offices after Reconstruction. The TX Gov in fact is so weak, and the Lt. Gov so strong, the latter is considered to be significantly more powerful than the former. The Lite Guv, in turn, is considered to be less powerful than the Speaker of the House.

Not to say that Dino's objection is dumb. Hell, he should be thankful that his state wasn't compared to Darfur or Alabama...

She will lose. Too much baggage, negatives too high.

Her negatives are at this point comparable to the other candidates, and, depending on the poll you're looking at, her net favorability is better than all the Republican candidates.

MS Governor is a weak post and it's power ebbs and flows with the personality and political fortunes of the office holder. As she should know being the wife of the Arkansas gov. The Lt. Governor is actually one of the more powerful positions in the state.

So now when anyone refers to 'Clinton', I'm to assume it is the female one opposed to the male one?

Maybe using her first name would be a better idea.

But as she made no mention of that position her facts were not wrong...

It was a needless putdown of a region of the country put in a needless whine about why she's not doing well in Iowa.

Hey I'm not defending her. I've stated before if I had a vote in your election I would chew my arm off before voting for HRC.

Yeah I know. You had a fair number of comments and to break the text up would have been awkward as well. I think an opinion/summary at the end would have been best, but hey, it is your thread.

Is any put down of Mississippi really needless?
