Are Lt. Governor and Governor the same thing?
To roughly quote Dave Barry from memory, the duties of lieutenant governor consist of "calling the governor every day to see if he's dead." LG:Governor::VP:President, only AFAIK they don't get tie-breaking votes in the state senate and normally they don't have Cheney-type power. Unless the Gov dies in office, a female LG is about as significant to politics as a female mascot is to a sports team.

Anyway, translation: I know I can't win Mississippi, but I want to win in Iowa.
To roughly quote presidential candidate Dogbert from memory, "my campaign platform is to give all the money in the treasury to Iowa, though I might flip-flop on that after the primary."

So I gather the thread starter made a false accusation....?

HRC says: ""I was shocked when I learned Iowa and Mississippi have never elected a woman governor, senator or member of Congress. There has got to be something at work here."
The OP articles says she doesn't know her facts because Mississippi has had two Lt. Governors who are women.
Whoever wrote that article should be sent to New Jersey to vote.

Where does the article say that (not DD's added comments)?
The article does point out two Lt Governors but have we not already determined Lt Gov /= Governor?
From what I see HRC was not incorrect in that regard as she did not refer to Lt. Gov's.

I was summarizing. The article gives HRC's quote, tells her not to let facts get in her way, and then states Mississippi has had two female Lt. Governors. I didn't notice any other "incorrect facts" which the article mentioned.

I do believe you are referring to DD's comments. He italisized them in the article just to be confusing.
edit: This was DD -
Don't let facts get in the way of your rant here, Ms. Clinton.

Right about Governors, Senators, and members of Congress from Mississippi
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
She will lose. Too much baggage, negatives too high.
