Any more comments on said letter, btw?
That it and the whole issue was a stupid waste of time and I'm just glad that something good came of it.

Whatever you think of Rush, he is dead right here and Harry Reid could have picked a far better battle to take Rush on with.

When you listen to the whole thing, it leaves you wondering how the democrats could be so incredibly stupid. My only guess is that Reid and Co. never listened to what they complained about. They saw the exerpts and thought "we got him!". The sad commentary is that both sides now fail to recognize when they do something stupid and just keep trying to justify it by continuing to shove their spin at us.

You would have to be a real "insert favorite slur here" to buy that bu**** without doing a little checking things out.

Follow the money for the moveon vote and follow the influence trail when looking at the Rush letter.

        No suprise where eithier leads...

I read the transcript posted at Media Matters. Do you have a transcript that is at odds with the one I'm reading?

I'm a fair person, do you have a link to a transcript backing up Limbaugh? I'd love to hear him explain why he referred to 1 soldier when both he and his caller were referring to soldiers who either support or oppose the Iraq policy.

BTW: I'm still waiting for someone to point to an erronious factual assertion anywhere in the MoveOn ad.

...and Senate majority leaders and presidential cancicates are involved in how many of those?

Rush is a big boy, I'm sure he can take care of himself.

I'm sure you'll agree he did so admirably.

but there is a way to misconstrue Limbaugh's statement? Would that be by reading what he said?

Of course there is, and you're doing it right now.

It's funny, MediaMatters claimed that "phony soldiers" couldn't possibly mean MacBeth because he was only metioned after the fact in that radio broadcast, but then are forced to note that the Morning Update he read from came from the previous day. Clearly, the topic was on his mind when he said it.

What was on his mind was not what came out of his mouth. You want to argue about what he meant without acknowledging what he said. Can we establish facts before trying to read minds?

How do you explain the fact he said "phony soldiers" referred to MacBeth? Where is this transcript that shows he was talking about MacBeth and not the opposite of "real soldiers" who want to be in Iraq?

I am acknowledging (I was wondering how to spell that for the longest time) everything he said, including what he had said before and after.

Two minutes after, if you go by the transcript.

CALLER 2: No, it's not, and what's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.

                              LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country.

LIMBAUGH: They joined to be in Iraq. They joined --

Real soldiers support Bush's policies, phony soldiers dont... Pretty damn clear if you ask me... As to what he meant, that keeps changing. First he meant only MacBeth but changed that by adding more names to satisfy the plural. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if he didn't have a track record of trashing vets who get in the way of what he wants.

                                ...and then, two minutes later...

Look, I want to thank you, Mike, for calling. I appreciate it very much. I gotta -- let me see -- got something -- here is a "Morning Update" that we did recently talking about fake soldiers. This is a story of who the left props up as heroes. And they have their celebrities.

One of them was Jesse MacBeth. Now, he was a "corporal," I say in quotes - 23 years old.
This, without being challenged on the meaning "phony soldiers" in the prior few minutes. He dug it out as an example of he meant, obviously.
