People don't start by injecting it. Their addiction progresses to the point where they start doing that.
Depends on the person, some people started heroin addiction by injecting it, most meth users never inject it because the drug is quite effective ingested in safer ways. Mother's Little Helper is about speed and pills are the most common means of use.

Most people who use crystal meth, even to lose weight (probably most of them), are addicted to drugs. You may have a different experience, but it's quite unique.
Is that a fact? We can play word games and call anything "addiction" and I'm sure I qualified as "addicted", but I stopped when I wanted to stop and I used when I wanted to use. You call that addiction, I call it doing something I liked doing. I dont share your loose definition of addiction, most drug users are "casual" users in that their lives aren't falling apart because of their drug use. Ignoring them and focusing on a small minority to draw conclusions about the vast majority is akin to racism.

Not a fact. How about prices? Did the price of heroine and cocaine go down because all these trafficers were stuffing the market? There's a lot you don't know. You can't go around calling things facts with such evidence.
Thanks for agreeing then But pot has a 5,000 year history with a fatality rate of damn near zero. How many other drugs have that kind of record?
Marijuana can be abused. Generally speaking, people who habitually use marijuana don't make very healthy people. It causes a tremendous amount of suffering. Nothing to laugh at pal.

Oh, and I wasn't using meth to lose weight, that was just a desirable side effect

Another side effect was meth killed my desire for cocaine.

That's not true. If someone uses meth long enough they will inject it. That said, most people who use meth habitually never stop using it and start injecting it. They start injecting it for 2 reasons. First, their addiction messes their brain up so that they no longer care about the consequences of injecting the drug. And second, they no longer get as high anymore from smoking it.

I'm sorry, but that's a bunch of nonsense. People who use meth are not casual users. Possibly they aren't siting in abandoned houses shooting up yet, but they are still addicted. Even if I were to believe that you were a casual users I find it incredible that you know all of these casual users. Most people know better than to use dangerous drugs like that. Choosing to use crystal meth is a good sign that you are a drug addict. There's a problem right there.

I don't know if you know it Berz, but meth is quite a bit stronger than it used to be. It's now made by people who know what they are doing. Smoking it is almost as bad as injecting it now.

Oh Jesus, dont change the subject. At least I'm posting evidence - all those former pot smugglers sitting in jails for trafficking in cocaine and heroin. It is a fact, Nixon's war on pot led to a large increase in cocaine and heroin coming across the border. Argue your BS with someone else, preferably someone who lived thru that period with more patience than I have right now.

I'm at you, putz, not pot smokers. Pot can be abused blah blah blah. You keep changing your argument, we're talking about pot use and now you want to talk about those who "abuse" it. Anything can be abused, so what? I sure have "abused" it and I'm doing fine. But I am worried about the 30 years of smoking cigs and all that Mountain Dew and Pepsi I've been drinking. And all that food loaded with processed sugar, ugh. If I get diabetes it wont be because of pot. So yeah, get a grip and put things into a little perspective.

I quite the ciggies almost 2 years ago now. All I had to do was get divorced. I will always need my coffee in the morning though. Caffiene is awesome.

I've quit smoking at least a dozen times. I'm an expert at it.

Your sentence doesn't even make sense. If it's a fact then it's an exact number value, not "large." Probably, the war on pot had something to do with it. That's all you can say with certainty, and that doesn't mean that drug trafficers wouldn't have started smuggling cocaine and heroine in larger numbers anyway.

I did a lot of times too. Just keep at it. If you are like me one day you will quit for the last time. Hopefully you aren't dead then.

People used to get pharmaceutical speed It cant get any stronger than the stuff I used to get so I'm well aware of pure meth (and I mean pure).

That's not true. If someone uses meth long enough they will inject it. That said, most people who use meth habitually never stop using it and start injecting it. How do you know? I used it for several years, was that long enough? Of all the people I knew who were into it (~50), only 2-3 were shooting. Seriously, you somehow dont know squat about the subject. People have been using speed for decades and injection is very uncommon. Most people took it in pill form, sometimes powder. Hell, my Mother was prescribed the stuff back in the 60s so she could lose a little weight. Ballplayers used it in liquid form with clubhouses having "leaded" and unleaded coffee. We still give the stuff to the military, especially pilots. My Dad was given the stuff back when he was flying B-17s in WWII. The German Blitzkrieg was "fueled" by speed. You aren't even close to the truth, Kid. I dont mean that as an insult, just "fact"

I'm sorry, but that's a bunch of nonsense. People who use meth are not casual users. Possibly they aren't siting in abandoned houses shooting up yet, but they are still addicted.
So how are we defining addiction and casual use? I said the casual user maintains their life while the addict doesn't. In your example they are both addicts, the addict sitting in an abandoned building shooting speed is = to the person who uses speed on weekends or to cram for finals or the pilot or driver (which is why I used it) who needs that boost to stay awake. You sound like the people claiming crack cocaine produced immediate addicts, and crack babies doomed to be future psychotic criminals, and blah blah blah. There is the potential of abuse, and obviously some people cant deal... You see them and draw conclusions about everyone else. Thats illogical... Do you think porn made Ted Bundy rape and kill women?

Even if I were to believe that you were a casual users I find it incredible that you know all of these casual users. Most people know better than to use dangerous drugs like that. Choosing to use crystal meth is a good sign that you are a drug addict. There's a problem right there.
Oh well, then we must have about 50 million meth addicts? Or 40 million? Just how many people have used speed in this country? How many are sitting in abandoned buildings shooting meth? On behalf of all those people who've used speed and are not addicts sitting in abandoned buildings, spare us your BS stereotypes.

Can we deal with FACTS and not your speculations about what would have happened? My God Kid, we have the people in jails all over the place. We have their police records, and what they were doing before they got busted trafficking in cocaine and/or heroin. They were pot smugglers up until Nixon's crackdown on pot. There was a major shift from pot to harder more concentrated drugs that were more difficult to detect. Its common sense! Its in the history books...

What is your problem then with teaching kids that marijuana is bad for you?
HUH? Teacher, leave them kids alone. You cant seem to stay on the subject. You do that alot
