Dang. They used to have the previews when they were first airing it. I remember seeing them for "Cowboy Funk," which then wasn't aired (most likely to having a bomber blowing up twin towers in the episode so close to 9/11).

There's an article in Wired about the doujinshi situation in Japan that isn't completely bollocks.

That's sad. Who cares who made the show when you can cram an extra commercial in, right?
I still remember the first time I ever saw that. Hunt for Red October was on one of the big three stations, and instead of the wonderful end credit music they ran commercials.

Bleach will be back in January with new episodes in March.
Deathnote: Still a rather bland description of it. Can you be more specific?

Death Note is a story about a Japanese high-school kid with the rather unusual name of Light Yagami. One day he finds a strange notebook lying on the school grounds. At first he thinks it's a prank; the notebook contains a list of instructions (in English) that say the notebook can be used to kill people. If you know the name and face, you can write the name in the notebook and that person will die of a heart attack, or whatever else you write down. Even though he thinks it's a sick joke, he tests it out after seeing a news report of a hostage situation, and is surprised when it works.
A few days later, he's not really surprised when a Shinigami (death god) shows up, claiming to be the owner of the notebook. But he doesn't want it back, and in fact can't simply take it back. He has to wait for Light to die or return it. Turns out this Shinigami, Ryuk, was bored in the Shinigami world, so he thought dropping his notebook in the human world would provide entertainment.
Even though it was random chance that Light picked up the notebook, Ryuk gets plenty of entertainment. Light intends to wipe out crime and set himself up as savior to the downtrodden. Of course, a string of deaths of convicted criminals doesn't escape official notice, and Interpol starts up an investigation, bringing in a mysterious troubleshooter called "L".
Anyway, last season is mostly over. I dropped Kodomo no Jikan for the annoying censorship and the changes to the manga story. No surprise they'd have to rework things, but they take Mimi and Kuro way out of character in the first episode and never really get things quite right afterwards.
Dennou Coil ended on a pretty strong note. Could have been a bit more subtle about the theme by dropping a single short scene in the last episode, but given the target audience it wasn't inappropriate at all. Probably the best series of the past year.
Sketchbook was a fun, but too short, ride. Too bad I can't see a series like this ever getting licensed.
Genshiken 2 was pretty much as expected. If you liked the first one and/or the manga, this one is a good continuation, and almost certainly licensed already.
New season I'm not so sure about. There's several continuations I'm looking forward to, but the rest of the shows don't seem to have any strong draws.
I'm looking forward to the continuations of Gunslinger Girls, Aria, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Haven't decided yet if I'll be checking out any of the rest.

I was struggling to define it, then someone goes ahead and defines it perfectly for me.
But that doesn't explain your problem with it. Actually, this response makes your reasoning more perplexing.

the opening music to cowboy bebop. In fact, I like most of the music composed by Yoko Kanno for anime.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
Excel Saga has just been unseated as funniest anime for me...
But I'v forgotten the name!
Wraith: What's the anime which starts as a seemingly typical 'magical princess' anime, but goes totally insane?
The one with the 'Lyrical Tokarev, KILL THEM ALL' song?
"Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"
"...Mangy dog staggering about, looking vainly for a place to die."
"sauna stories? There are no 'sauna stories'.. I mean.. sauna is sauna. You do by the laws of sauna." -P.

That is a very engrossing site. I've wasted many an hour there, and not just because their server tends to be slow ^_^
That reminds me, though. I need to finish polishing up the Glass Mask entry and post it there.
--"But that doesn't explain your problem with it."
Suspension of disbelief problems? I mean, a notebook that can kill people by writing names in it is pretty easy to swallow, but some of the various schemes, on both sides, really push it.
--"In fact, I like most of the music composed by Yoko Kanno for anime."
She's both talented and prolific. Not to mention multilingual.

The chant is from Dai Mahou Touge. If you enjoyed that, you should also check out Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan (from the same director), and Puni Puni Poemi (from the Excel Saga staff, but with the breaks, and TV censors, off).

I have been watching a lot of anime recently.. mainly two silly ones ( a romantic comedy "Karin" which was decent but not as good as FMP and some one that just finished up in December about a martial artist with two girls after him ( a heiress and a succubus) which is extremely silly and probably not worth watching ( Definitely not if you don't like looking at anime boobs)).
I am trying to decide what to watch next.
