well, it was an illegal u-turn. Apparently he displayed an inability to follow simple traffic laws, which is good enough for the pull over.
Good enough for a pullover and ticket, not proof of drunk driving. Damn near everyone violates traffic laws.

Actual legal limit vs Berzerker's definition of drunk....
let's see, what matters more... hmmm...
My definition is the one cops used before the introduction of breath or blood tests. But I'd rather see a motorist exceed the limit and maintain control of their vehicle than someone just under the limit who isn't in control. The test has limits too...

In November 2004, he pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and was sentenced to 60 months of probation and 50 hours of community service and ordered to attend an alcohol treatment program.

The standard deal for routine DUI first offense is something like two days jail (usually just time served in booking process instead of two full days), fines around $2000, and 3 years probation.
Wow, what a crazy state. In Indiana, I could get a first time offender 6mos to a year probation, depending on the facts, even if the bac wasn't low.

It couldn't have been that the cops could have smelled the alcohol on his breath, could it?

Damn near everyone swerves from time to time also. The mere conjunction of a swerve and an illegal BAC doesn't mean someone's drunk then?

True, thats why cops investigate. How does that change the fact cops rely on how a person drives to tell if they might be drunk? If you're drunk and not swerving cops dont know if you're drunk because you aint driving drunk.

Yeah, Berz. I wonder how the cop knew he was drunk.

I dont know that he was drunk, he got busted for DUI

I've tried explaining what that means but y'all seem to equate that with being drunk.
