Yup. The Dems would be smart to put up someone, either Pres or VP, that would swing repub voters. Those two losers won't even swing me, and I consider myself pretty liberal. They are shinning examples of everything that is wrong with the Democratic party, and it is poor strategy on the part of the Dems, and it is for this reason that we are stuck have been stuck with Bush.

They have better options.
Yes, if the Dems want any hope of getting the swing voters, they must stay away from Hillary being on their ticket.
I agree that the VP has to be someone who is better at reaching the other side, rather than Obama. Hillary, while being fairly moderate (no less than Bill when he ran in 1992), has some crazy, irrational hatred against her by the right.
Clinton would do very well to grab a young, articulate Southern Democrat. Preferably a House Representative.

She is nuts, flightly, hypocritical, and arrogant. Okay, maybe not arrogant, but I had the commas going.
Would you rather tax poverty than wealth?
She's sane, so no, not nuts. Not "[flighty]" either. Hypocritical... she's a politician, that's a job requirement.

Judging by the polls I've seen right now it appears that Hillary Clinton is almost certain to be the Democratic candidate for president next year. IIRC John Edwards is doing better than Obama, so it might be a Clinton - Edwards for the Dems in '08.
"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!
Nah... Edwards doesn't get on the ticket. He's hammered Hillary far more than Obama has.

Clinton and Obama are snowing people with domestic issues.
The president doesn't have that much sway on domestic issues. That's congress.
You need to be thinking about foreign policy and at least choose someone that knows and acknowledes that's where there concern needs to be focused.
A president can propose domestic issues, but foreign is the strength of the office.

The important thing isn't so much to swing Republican voters but to swing independants. It's not that I see a Hillary-Obama ticket being that attractive, it's that I see the Republican ticket being unattractive enough to swing the election to the Dems. The Republican base seems to dislike all of the candidates for some reason or another, and a significant number of them might just stay home (or vote Constitution party), especially if the Repubs nominate Rudy or Romney. In my experience, many lifelong Republicans are completely fed up with the party- not fed up enough to vote Dem, but fed up enough not to vote or to vote third party
Add in the fact that most non-Republicans are eager to get the Republicans out of the White House, and I get the sense that the Dems could win with basically any ticket that leaves off Kucinich. I'm guessing that the Hillary-Obama ticket would be the ticket most likely to energize the Democratic base. As long as they don't totally alienate independents, then they'll win.

'Cause the President has no pull with Congress... maybe you've just been lulled by the last two years, Slow .
