    Gen Betray Us? Move On

    Okay, in Move On's defense, Petraeus has given rosy scenarios before that turned out bogus, but that dont make him a liar and traitor or whatever. And its dis-ingenuous for Bush to hide behind generals and then expect everyone to treat his generals as if they're preaching the gospel.

    I see the GOP trying to make trouble for the Dems by "asking" them to condemn the ad and if they dont, they're accused of liking Move On more than the military. Bush even said they're more afraid of irritating Move On than the military. How's this for a double standard...and great timing... After attacking Move On and the Dems who haven't sufficiently expressed outrage over the ad, Bill O'Reilly then attacked a general in Afghanistan for his involvement in murder charges possibly being brought against two Green berets for killing a terrorist. O'Reilly accused the general of sacrificing these two men to advance his career. Like pissing O'Reilly off is a great career move...

    Keith Olbermann gave one of his special comments last night pointing out how the GOP smears vets at the drop of a dime when it suits their political agenda.

    After hearing all about it, I actually saw the MoveOn.org ad on this today. I have NO IDEA what the big fuss is about. Really... why are some people all up in arms about this? Wow... the MoveOn folks think Petraeus is being a shill for the administration (frankly I don't think that's really news). So?

      makes for good politics, Dems gotta choose between Move On and the military... Not Move On and a shill for Bush

      The Bushies have this habit of "equating" themselves and their policies with the troops and all thats good with America. Its fascistic, but it works on alot of people.

              The name game is pretty juvenile and distracts from the real issues. That's middle school trash talking crap.

              The underlying issue is what to do with a war that's going on for over four years with no end in sight, 4,000 dead on our side and who knows how many non-combatant Iraqis and Iraqi government forces, plus whatever number of real Baathists, terrorists, arab nationalists, and whoever else has felt like trying to plink us?

              MoveOn should move on, they're a bunch of whiners who don't collectively have the brains of a gnat when it comes to serious policy issues and execution.

                    I have seen lots of GOP attacks on MoveOn.Org because MoveOn had the audacity to challenge the report of Petraus. I have yet to hear any GOPer claim that MoveOn's charges are not true.

                      My odds of survival statistically if I did go over would be better than 1 in 110 at this point. That's not really a war. Most attacks are targeting other Iraqis and Americans are just caught in the middle.
