When I was stationed in Germany, I was told that the Danish people love Americans and are still very thankful for defeating the Germans in WWII. I was also told that they still see the US as protecting them from Germany. Finally I was told that I should hook up with a Danish woman. Can any Danes comfirm this statements? I was never able to make it to Denmark, so I don't know.

Not to try to justify the outlook, but at least he was honest about his reaction, and seems to realize it is one to be ashamed of. (Though he could have been much more adamant on that point certainly.)
More generally speaking...
Two wrongs don't make a right, but a lot of people don't seem to understand that, or even try to justify their glee in retribution. It happens all the time in "polite" society, even on these forums. Then those who admit to their mistakes, are honest with about them, get trampled down. The only "safety" these days is to never admit to any failing. Deny, deny, deny... we're backwards.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I honestly think, that the man had a very high degree of capacity for empathy.
His speech, was, well its hard to describe, but I really did feel he felt my pain - well not exactly MY pain, of course, how could he, but that he had an insight into what we felt that was far deeper than mere pro forma condolences.
In fact I see perfect resonance between someone so emotionally, how should I say it, open, fungible, in the moment, whatever, that he CAN empathize and so well, and his own complete impulsiveness and irresponsibility on certain things."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

I don't know that Japher has ever made a serious post.
I can't remember what the original post was, but it was AWESOME.
Personally, I find it odd that the Danes are more offended by my post than the French.

I did once... Had to edit it to avoid confusion. It was very profound, revealed the meaning of life in all it's glory. For a minute I was face to face with God himself and wondered if I should kick His ass. Then, Pekka posted after it, and I felt the WTFp feeling and edited the post because it was just wrong... like how farting in the shower ruins that "clean feeling".
