Greatest Civilization in the World - Hurt or Heal?

And China as a civilization is not really one continuous thing either, the different eras of their history have significant differences. Pre and Post Mongolia are very different, as an example.
And of course when China encountered the West first hand, the victor was clear
"The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. Seriously.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Big ships per se don't prove much about isolation (which the illustration nicely demonstrates by providing the much smaller St. Maria for comparison).
That was the ship of Zheng He the explorer.
Also, the Santa Maria wasn't a Roman/Greek ship.

Well, of course Columbus' ships weren't Roman or Greek. My point was just about the size.
But afaik Zheng He didn't live during the high times of ancient Hellas or Rome either so expecting them to build anything similar to vessels used ca. 2000 yrs later seems a bit unfair to me...

Seeing as I voted China down to 6, and EPW, Nikolai and DAVOUT have also voted them down, I make the scores to be:
114 - Rome
98 - Greece
Eliminated - China.
