  • Persia

Huge impact on teh world through teh Arabs, Ottomans, even Mongols and Greeks. In teh post-Egypt/Sumeria/Indus Valley age, it was one of teh four cultural fountainheads of teh ancient world.

And of course Zoroastrianism and monotheism hugely influenced world religion.

Zoroastrianism is uniquely important in the history of religion because of its possible formative links to both Western and Eastern religious traditions. As "the oldest of the revealed credal religions," Zoroastrianism "probably had more influence on mankind directly or indirectly, more than any other faith."

      • It's certainly more famous for its pre-Islam contributions, but Muslim Persia played a big role in teh Islamic world as well, much like Greece did after going Christian.

              Uhh......

We're still fighting against Arabisation and Islamisation, and the fight is rather coming to the fore right now. Victory is predicted in around the next twenty years. Then we start kicking butt again.

As for not fighting: it took a freaking 400 YEARS for the barbarians to even gain a goddamn FOOTHOLD in Indian territory! Didn't resist my ass! But there is a limit to how much you can fight, and for how long, from enemies so close. The barbarians had to go all the way across Europe to get to Spain. After Persia fell, however, India was literally on the border.

                          Of course not!

We don't need to. Our movies and music, though banned in Pakistan, are doing that job for us.

More seriously, I mean that the Indic mindset will make a comeback into the mainstream within the next 20 years, which is an essential prerequisite for this country to really progress on its own terms.

                          • It seems to be a tight race between Greece, Rome and Egypt, with Rome going to win as is proper
