Click here and here to find out how close the George Washington Bridge came to being blown up on 9/11 and why all evidence against those terrorists was classified. From the frist Link:
The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead. Then there would be little risk or expense and no American army would be left exposed. But if he did this, his cowardly electorate would have instantly ended his term of office, if not his freedom or his life.
    ...
If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.
If this guy were living in the third Reich, I assume he would be a very strong supporter of Hitlers extermination policies
But maybe he should have gathered more informatons about history before writing his article, especially about the difference between roman legions (always paid by their commander and therefore loyal to him) and the amercian military (paid by the state)

Umm...it seems counter-intuitive to post and then take off an editorial. I'm also not an expert on the technology here at all. Is it at all likely that the site was either hacked or the editorial fabricated? It seems a bit silly for an opinion piece, whose entire purpose is to persuade a given audience, to be taken offline because it was 'discovered'.

Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

Nice one. Next up, Hitler card!

It's kind of ironic how both sides see reduction of freedoms acceptable if it hits their ideology. Against terrorism, sure, let's take some rights away. Against the possibility of fascism gaining popular vote, sure, let's take away some freedoms.

It's the same ****, the package is different. Except that at least we had a bit of terrorism in the last decade as opposed to fascism.

I'm kind of FOR freedom and liberty, so both sides can fondle my genitalia. The problem freedom haters are facing with me is that I'm not exactly afraid of potential things that much. I consider them to be the necessary evil and/or accept the idea that for these liberties some damage can occur. It's life. Maybe you guys can try to ban life or something. I'd rather ban banning.

                          Challenges

What are the obstacles to American victory?

Following the attacks of 9/11, the United States launched a large scale, multi-dimensional global war against terrorism. This war includes military, diplomatic, and intelligence efforts that transcend America's shores to include operations across the world. The American struggle to defeat Islamist terrorism has made great progress, damaging terrorist organizations and capabilities on an international level. This does not mean, however, that success is guaranteed. The American military, intelligence, and diplomatic services can all perform brilliantly, achieving every objective set for them, and the United States can still lose the war against terrorism. A number of obstacles exist that could derail America's effort. But by understanding the nature of these challenges and the ways in which they can threaten the United States, we can vigilantly defend ourselves against their undermining effects.
