What happened to the days when leaders actually lead? I'm really fed up with the US political system that seems to be composed of a bunch of stuffy politicians reading off speeches that were prepared by someone else. Eight years of Clinton and eight years of Bush (I never would have predicted this when I voted for him) have lead to a public sector that is now larger than the private sector. The Democrats are worse than ever, being the socialist UN loving pansies just waiting to put us under UN rule. The Republicans are no longer the party that created the contract with America and are nearly as socialist as the Democrats, they're just not willing to completely sell the country out yet. So basically we have a choice of a really bad party and a party that isn't quite as bad.
We need a true conservative party that is going to completely gut the government and bring it back under control, secure our borders, and keep us out of every god damn international issue that doesn't concern us. Compassionate conservatism is just another way of saying "I'm a liberal" and I believe has lead to the problem in Iraq. The Republicans are only conservative on social issues, which should in every circumstance take a back seat to US security and the economy. I'm completely against gay marriage, but I'll take gay marriage any day if it means secure borders and a booming economy with a small government and low taxes.
Last election we had a choice between Bush and Kerry...what kind of choice is that? We need a revolution that will allow a fresh group of leaders who are outside the current political system and special interests. As long as businesses continue to break the law by hiring illegal aliens and continue to wield the power they have in the government, we will always have an open border and be subject to outside influences on our system. I'm a small business owner myself, and I firmly believe in the capitalist system, but this is nothing more than breaking the law and US national security should never be compromised to make an extra buck.
So, how do we go about creating a viable third party that will break the current political system and reform the government? Both parties actively work to keep third parties from forming, and with the rampant corruption in both of them, I think it wiill be very difficult to create a third party.
