  • If war breaks out in europe should the US get involved?

I'm becoming isolationist. I say we pull our people out, like we're doing but faster, let treaty obligations lapse excepting a mutual defense treaty with the Brits if they want it, and go our own way.

    I'm a semi-isolationists.

I see us taking part in U.N. and NATO actions, maybe even being the backbone in their efforts. But militarily going off on our own -- absent extraordinary circumstances -- is not wise and almost aways will be counterproductive. I do think we need to keep our army hospital in Germany and our naval bases in Italy, the Persian Gulf region, Diego Garcia and the Far East so we can do minimal force projection when necessary.

Outside of Afghanistan, our War on Terror should be limited to training local forces and to conducting covert actions -- with maybe quick raids or cruise-missile strikes against high-value targets.

I cant imagine a war in europe sincerely, or at least an important one between 2 important countries.

        I hope not.

But there could be a flare up in the Balkans
or perhaps beteen nations of the former Soviet Union.

I can imagine war in the balkans, but then, it is a problem of them, why get involved?

And Russia attacking former USSR republics, but who would dare to act against russia?

It depends on the defensive pacts you have with the european state/s involved

What exactly is the war over, and how did it start?

                        Hm,
it´s been more than 60 years since our last war with the french.

Maybe it´s time to start another one

Or the Danes, if I remember correctly we last had a war with them around 1860.
Maybe we should now try to capture all of Jutland for us

I'd prefer us getting Crimea, Novorossiya and Baltic back without having to bomb some guys in BDUs.

The european union killed wars between western europeans.

I tend to see west euro countries as provinces of a future european state, so war is impossible.
