Once the Germans were warlike and mean.
But now is now ,and that was then.
We taught them a lesson in 1918,
And they've hardly bothered us since then.

One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

I tend to see west euro countries as provinces of a future european state, so war is impossible.
The further integration of the EU is not going so well because countries like the UK and Poland for example oppose stronger integration. That we'll see one big European state anytime in the next 100 years will be unlikely. Then again nobody knows how world politics will have evolved after 50 years or so. Still with the current attitude it's not going to happen.

War will remain impossible. That is, unless we fall short on energy supplies causing major competition between nations which will in turn destroy the Union. And when the Union breaks down, wars could be possible again.

                1. its impossible to answer without knowing which war, between who, under what circumstances, at elast unless youre such an isolationist you think we should not get in involved in any war

1A. Quibble - we are already involved in a euro war. AQ is at war with most Euro states, and has killed dozens in London and Madrid, and we support UK and Spain and every other euro state in their struggle against AQ, as much as we can. Yeah, I know half or more of you dont consider that a "war" Whatever.

                2. How is this on topic, for history? At least as currently phrased?
