Caerphilly Castle- probably the most elaborate fortress in Britain, making spectacular good use of water defences.

                  Some castles I have visited.

See if you can spot the connection between them.

                  Hever

                  Rochester

                  Leeds

                  Dover

                  Deal

Hever and Leeds are more like royal holiday homes than real castles. Deal, built in the shape of the Tudor rose, was built by Henry VIII to defend from papal sponsored invasion after his antics. Rochester I know nothing about, and Dover is the one with the a lot of interesting history.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

                    The connection is...

                    I've been to them all!

Oh, and they're all in Kent, you lazy bastard...

And you also missed out Walmer Castle, which is similar but more interesting than Deal.

Upnor castle, which didn't do its job when the Dutch did a 'Pearl Harbour' on us.

Or Richborough, the most likely starting point for the Roman invasion of Britain.

Or Scotney 'Castle', nice gardens there...

I went to an awesome restaurant housed in that place once. Quebec was nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live there, like most primitive places.
