What we'll do with that wealth is squander it on foreigners to provide our elderly with poor healthcare.

      Joy.

I'd like to see it spent on some massive bridges and stuff like that.

Australia will still stay ahead of you in the continuous growth stakes, I believe we are 1 - 2 years ahead in continuous growth, but 15 years is still an excellent effort

I drove over a 16 mile bridge twice this week.

But seriously, you need a channel bridge, the chunnel just too constrained for some people.

If only the polltax had remained, we wouldn't have council tax either.

Like the suicidal ecomonic policies pursued in the late 80's? Which played a major part in her fall, as well as kicking off Britain's last major recession?

Yes. She forced the UK to modernize and to break the Post-WWII bargain it had struck that had been holding back its recovery and changed the terms of the debate to such an extent that you don't even see Labour make any real serious move to undo her reforms. On the contrary, Blair even accepted that many of them had been necessary.

                            Well,

The heavy industry in the UK is dead as a dodo. So I assume it is mainly the banking sector who keeps that growth a float.

Because there's only banking an industry in an economy?

We have focussed on the things we are best at, Germany might move on from stagnation if it did the same.
