I will go shopping the first day it comes out, but it's no chance I'd bother with the midnight geek release thingy.

Next Saturday, I'll go about 9:00 AM to the local Borders (huge stacks of DH all over the store and no crowds), pick out one that has no bent corners or a scuffed cover, cash in my $10 gift card, get my 40% discount, bring it home and try to figure out how to have three people in my family read it simultaneously...

What are you, Scottish? Just buy two or three books, you can always sell off the excess ones second-hand once you're done.

We have them over here, but usually only for the translations (which aren't released until a couple of months after the English versions), not for the original books. Only in big international cities like Amsterdam is there enough demand for the English versions to warrant such events.

A midnight release party. Imran deserves some kind of recognition.

I got a tip I should post here to.

I'll just repost what I wrote in the other thread, with an addition:

Well, I just finished the book. All I can say is: Great book, and seldom have (some) people been so right in such a wrong way.

                          I say no more.

So, I got it yesterday, but hadn't time to read before around 22 last night. Read until two in the night, resumed reading around twelve today. Finished some 15 minutes ago. Was completely hooked! Anyway, it's only 600 pages, that goes fast when the book is easy to read.

Ok, folks.. I'm heading out for a evening with Potter fun! First dinner, then hanging out in the B&N for the party stuff... until midnight .

I can read 2000 pages in 24 hours. (or could)

I probably won't get the book right away, maybe I should as a challenge?
