Seriously, I'll drive home from the bookstore, and I will read the whole thing immediately. I'm crazy enough to do that."You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. I actually try to enjoy the books rather than read them as fast as possible... but that's just me.

Let me guess, you practice tantric reading? You read one page then stop 10 minutes, then you read another page and then stop another 10 minutes?

The HP books are as much about the journey as they are the end. There are so many gems hidden in the pages of those books.

Ditto for me you have to read them carefully to fully appreciate them. Reading it in one day or sitting defeats the purpose of catching everything as well as the subtle nuances IMHO. If this is truly the last one I don't want to miss anything. Wait, wasn't that a song somewhere...*goes off to check Areosmith collection*

Its not that I skip passages or anything. Its just that I can't put those damn books down. When I start, its non-stop babyWhen I started reading the Potter books, I was naive: I bought the first four books. Little did I know... Naturally, I had to read the four books non-stop. Fortunately, I was on vacation at the time
My prediction: I'll start reading it on Saturday and finish it on sunday.

Read the first one and enjoyed it. However, my fantasy/sci-fi tastes run to more adult literature (John Shirley, Gene Wolfe, and especially Charles DeLint). To each their own.No matter where you go, there you are. - Buckaroo Banzai

I hope I'll be able to make a breakI don't want to be done with it on the first day. With the last book, though, I was done on the same day I got it, couldn't quite put it down.
I'll try to come to Poly or something to stretch it out for 2 daysSolver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Living in continental Europe in a small countryside town where relatively few people read the books in English (no excessively long queues expected at the bookstore), I'll probably be one of the first on the planet to get it thoughI was surprised to hear they were opening at 1:00 AM at all, if I'm not very much mistaken that's a first for the English version of the books.

Oh, so they take it seriously enough to open in the night? Bookstores only open at 10 in the morning here on the 21st, like they usually do. Well, not many people read in English here, for sure. Anyway, I'm in no rush, I want to get some good sleep before reading anywaySolver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Yeah, like I said I was quite surprised by that, there can't be that much demand for it.
Then again, in the larger and much more internationally-oriented neighbouring town the book stores aren't opening at 1:00 oddly enough, so my local store owners might've figured that they could get some traffic from there as well. And they probably just wanna be part of the global hype for a change, this is their last chance after all (which is the only reason I'm going too, I wouldn't have a problem waiting 'til morning -- I never felt a strong inclination to find a store that opened at night for any of the previous books).

It's quite fun here watching the two biggest bookstore chains fight over the chance to sell more Potters. One wisened up and offered a discount on preordersSolver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Oh... I'm going to a midnight release party at my Barnes & Noble. I guess they are more common in the US.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
