I love ties. Back in my professorial days, when I could have taught in jeans and a t-shirt if I'd wanted to, I tended to wear ties, usually from my great collection of vintage neckware from the 40s and 50s.
Now that I'm with the State Dept, though, I'm compelled to wear ties -- and boring ones at that -- so I don't tend to don ties for fun anymore. I still wear ties when needed... However, I wear them more in the winter time. In the summer time, unless we have client or external meetings, I'll just wear a golf shirt and try to stay comfortable.Keep on Civin'
