Well, I do admit that Civ Fanatics has a better Civ orientated community. The people there really do live and breath the game - I mean, there are thread titles like 'Is anyone actually playing with Grid OFF?!', which I think is quite quaint.

The one trouble with forums populated by like minded geeks though is that their off-topics are boring. Threads about favourite things, funny pictures and the like proliferate. I think this off-topic has a good spirit of debate and a good mix of people.

But it's just a forum, not a way of life or anything, so I find it quite strange that people get attached to the good old days of forum life, or raise certain posters up to a cult status.

There is ALWAYS room for improvement. The site will never be perfect. But I'm fairly happy with it. Wish for a bit more traffic (of the more Laz, molly, LOTM, Siro, etc., kind) but that can't be helped (well, maybe if we crack down on the anti-newbie crap that goes on here).

i was not intending to drive Widow away from 'Poly in any way. I may have mistook her for somebody i knew a long time ago, as there are incredible similarities that scare even me, or perhaps she IS that person.
