iPhone's features are not revolutionary, its interface is.
Bollocks. The LG Prada (KE850) already had a similar interface. It just doesn't have the Apple PR machine behind it.

I don't think so, but I'm doubting people are getting the iPhone because its multi-touch.

Its seems to be an important part of the UI
It can be easily replicated by, say, double clicking or something to zoom in. It's not really the groundbreaking thing some people seem to think it is.

Well, multitouch seems to be a great way to resize a pics...
But, frankly, I don't need all the **** that comes with the iPhone. Give me a basic phone and a 8GB iPod and I'm happy. I don't give a flying **** about instant messaging or keyboards or watching videos or surfing the net)
Anyway, multitouch or not, all the critics are raving about the iPhone's interface. With the exception of the virtual keyboard, that is.

Aside from the touch interface, LG Prada doesn't come even close in terms of email, voice mail, video, audio, and web-access user-friendliness.
LG will never be able to convince any US carriers to its terms, and neither does LG have the iTune. iPod and iPhone would be nearly as popular if it were not for the iTune.
It's the iTune that provides Apple hardware with easy-to-get contents, it's the iTune that forces Record Labels to eat the $1 per song pricing scheme, it's the iTune that causes EMI to give up the DRM, and it's the iTune, not some AT&T store clerks with huge stacks of paper work, that activates the iPhone.

Ah, I see.. it's Mac fanboyism at work here. Nevermind then... carry on the the "Mac will save the world" hyperbole then.
Btw, if you want to see what most folks around here think about iTunes (it has an 's' at the end of it, btw), start a thread about it. I promise you'll be shocked considering your opinion of it.

Except that the iPhone is not a mere phone, its also a MP3 player, you can also watch movies on it, there will probably also be games. Things you'll be able to buys or download on the iTMS.
I don't understand the hostility against Apple. What's so great about other tech companies that you have to trash Apple at every turn? What have Microsoft, LG, Nokia all have done for you that warrant your defense?

What is so great about Apple that you have to deify them at every turn?
The complaint isn't about Apple (though there is plenty to be mad at them about, locking you into a vertically integrated system in anything they do being a chief complaint), but about the fanboys who seem to think they are some sort of Godlike company and the reason their marketshare is so low on computers is because of dastardly tricks or something. I mean, really, the iPod, the iPhone, etc, are all triumphs of style over substance... if you like style, fine. But don't yell at the rest of us because we want something else with more substance but less style.
