                  It's by Monet, and it's a rock arch jutting out of the cliff at Etretat in Brittany.

                  So it's probably called something like Rock Arch or Cliff or Rough Sea at Etretat.


                  This one is also a song title...

                    oh darn i was going to guess the monet one! Waves at the Manneporte in 1883?85? around there. i saw it at the museum when i went. i have no idea what that one is.

                          Okay; the painting is by a mad and dangerous to know artist. He was committed to an asylum...

                          The song is by a very famous British band with an exotic lead singer.

                          This detail from another of the artist's paintings sounds like a song (or two?) by Nick Drake...

                              We should set the limit to 2 days before a new painting is posted.
                              Just so that if no one can name it things can move along.

                              Anyone can post a new one, in the case that the older painting has not been named.

                              Since this is the first painting that lasts so many days, it can stay untill tomorrow (22nd of June)
