I could recommend you a tonne of excellent pubs, though they will all be in the business district. A couple of the bars are where hot chicks go to pick up rich banker type husbands, if you are into that kind of thing.

London has some incredible Indian and Indian fusion restaurants. Don't have any names for you, but I couldn't find a bad one.

If you really want to do the Tower of London tour, set it up in advance, as the lines are incredible.

Use a youth hostel. They're relatively cheap and many of them will let you stay without paying if you agree to do some work for them (like paint or what not).
