They did that with Civ3. The special MP only game was called Civ2.

Hmmm reading this it seems that the only reason Eyes is a better player is because he knows the specifics of slaving properly. hmmmmm.

In the group we play with the lessor players usually get eliminated or close to it. The better players usually finish at the top. So there must be some skill diferenciation. Granted luck sometimes plays a role and a lessor player will finish near the top. But the better players usually do well. So I have no idea what Eyes is talking about.

Oh yes. He can only be best at a game, if he uses the exploits better than anyone else. Less exploits = No strategy. hahahahahahhahahah

We played a game with him, and he declares war on every player in the first group of turns, then WHINES about everyone is out to get him. I've never laughed so hard in my life. Then when the inevitable (of having everyone at war with you) happens, He quickly claims the game is too slow and for just newbs and retires.

TYPICAL EYES> and all he did in the set up screen was complain and argue the settings.

If you don't like the settings, don't play, I guess he did retire.

But don't tell us there is no strategy in the game.
You can tell us there are fewer exploits and they make every effort to close it down when they discover them.
      Using exploits is not strategy.
Knowing exploits does not make you a great player.

Ok, ready to be called a newb.
But at least i'm not a quitting whinner.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

That's funny, cause simply throwing down cities all over the map seems to be the hallmark of your strategy in Civ2. You keep complaining that it has been neutralized in Civ4.
I see you ingored the bulk of my post and I see you aren't willing to play 1v1...not surprising. To a guy like you it may seem like throwing down cities all over the map was all I did in Civ2, but that's because you know nothing about the game and this just proved it. I guarantee you'll lose every single game in Civ2 where you simply throw down cities. YOu can get away with throwing down cities just about anywhere in Civ4, there's no real penalty for it. So, ready to 1v1?

First of all, a proper FFA game is played where everyone is at war with each other from the start. Second, who the **** plays on normal speed? I mean seriously, I've never seen it done before. WHy would I want to wait 15 turns to build a god damn warrior? Slowing the game speed down makes it that much harder to take all 3 of you on. The real kicker was that you put on barbarians...again, no one plays with barbarians on and I found out the hard way you had it on when I suddenly lost 2 workers. Then you have huts turned on which=LOL. Are you crazy? I got bronze working out of a hut, that's like a 10 turn tech. Then you play on pangea (nobody plays that) and you make everyone go random civs. People with civs that start with scouts on a setting like that are just ****ed from the beginning vs anyone decent. You talk about skill, but all I saw out of you was a total inability to properly defend against a choke...if you could even call what I did to you a choke. YOu were Mali for ****s sake, they're like the best choking civ in the game. The other two were a joke, one guy was actually building irrigation on sheep. It's pretty hard to be bad at Civ4, but you guys really pulled it off. As I said in the game though, CIv4 isn't built to allow the types of leads you need to take 3 people on at once. Were that Civ2, no problem, I could do it, but not in Civ4. Again, it just proves my point. Also, you should learn what an exploit is before you open your mouth. You and ozzy clearly don't know dick.

To be fair Slavery is not an expolit (the two-pop whip trick is but slavery is overpowered without it). It was intended to only be used in high-food cities with low production and as a stop-gap in case anyone attacks. However, people started noteicing that all cities where high food and had realtively low production. Even without the mirco tricks it is still overpowered. Slavery should have been nerfed by Warlords or not at all. But I'll take it.

Edit: Let's make this easier. If you think that ICS is an expolit in Civ2 then slavery is in Civ4.

I've got nothing left to prove against you. You are more of an annoyance to play against than anything. I play this game to enjoy it, not to stoke an oversized yet delicate ego.

You could say that he's only 3rd because he uses expoilts. But everyone in the top100 used them! You could say that Civ4 was not in Europe yet but almost everyone who was serieous there already got their copy of Civ4! Even Solver says that EyesOfNight is not all talk!

Ozzy, you won't last 60 turns. THere's only one reason I'm playing Civ4 right now and that's because slavery allows you get a little bit of a lead. When slavery is nerfed, I won't bother with the game again. Actually, I"m already bored of Civ4 because even with slavery it's still a grind and it's got really no strategy in it. I just want to kick the **** out of you to prove the point once and for ozzy.

See that's the thing. If I beat the crap out of you, it proves nothing. But when you beat the crap out of me it proves everything.

There is no point to playing you. You are just an amusing troll.

the thing that i find kinda ridiculous is the complaint of lesser players. if they lesser players are sticking it out, that means you're closer to a lesser player. this seems to be an ego issue.
