Has anyone completed the 100 level challenge? I can't get past level 72 before I get overwhelmed.

Judging from my first try, hard mode ain't so hard. You can still do and correct a lot of design flaws. Looking at the damage inflict levels, it seems painfully obvious that AA towers are only a diversion for nubs. There simply isn't enough gold to upkeep defensive stations you need only once in a while. The rocket towers didn't seem too good. I suppose they're designed to be used when one has drawn 5 crowds during the same second and thus has loads of attackers near the same pixel.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

I would have got past 72 but lost a few very early ones, it's a tough level though.

Hmm, looking at your maps I think I can see your strats

Use the rockets because they give splash damage. Fire one missile and destroy several bad guys.

I just got overwhelmed on level 72 again.

The key seems to be swarm towers. As soon as I start doing anything other than upgrading to swarm towers, I get overwhelmed in a couple of waves. Dart towers and AA towers don't seem to be worth the cost.

I can get to 79, sometimes the start of 80. Some people can get higher with juggling, but the air waves are deadly!

Got to 78 this time using 4 swarm towers. You need them because anything else will still be firing at something else, while these will at least shoot at the **** planes.
Don't think dart towers are worthwhile in this mode, they just don't do enough damage and aren't versatile enough.

The maze I used to get to 78. (bottom pellets didn't really come into play, way just trying to delay the inevitable )

Going to fast doesn't seem to help much. To experiment I did the 10k fun game and made all 50 levels come at once. The final score was 8500. When I waited 3-5 seconds before sending in the next group my score was 10800. I guess you have to let the clock reset so you can add the clock time bonus to your score instead of simply hitting the button 50 times and not waiting for the clock to reset each time.

JM, the guy in the video didn't have enough splash weapons. Splash weapons damage all the guys in a given area where as a cannon or squart damage just one guy at a time. So the guys are going to fast to shot them one at a time and you need to damage lots of them at the same time to win.

Agreed, at least 4 swarm towers are needed. I tried doing nothing but swarms and the level 52 planes sail straight overhead while the swarms are still firing at the previous wave.

Made it to level 77 with a single sentinal tower in the centre, 4 swarm towers and a dart thrower plus as many swarms as I could afford. Still not enough.

Given the number of units on the map, a handful of dart throwers should be effective, but there's never enough cash to build enough plus defend against air.
