I would of gone for an all chrome case... but then that's just me.

          It's a bit pricey.

With tax and all that, it comes out to about $4500CDN right now.

It'll be cheaper in July. I may also change it up for AMD's Phenom FX chips when they launch in July, pending performance.

Those components probably deserve a better case. And Zalmans are great (I have one), but if you want to OC seriously, you'll need something beefier.

            Looks sweet though.

                What's wrong with the case?

It'll fit all the components fine, it's elegant in its simplicity, and most importantly...it's very quiet. Also has some nice features like discrete thermal compartments for the PSU and rest of the system, nice cable-management features, etc.

It's the sweetspot in terms of awesome cooling performance and awesome quietness. I'm not an insane overclocker, I prefer quiet PCs that kick ass.

Also, the Seagates in RAID0 will scream, but 1.5GB in RAID0 are a lot of eggs in one basket. You'd probably do as well, performance-wise, and much better, price-wise, to go with a 150GB Raptor X (10k RPM) for OS and apps, and a couple of 500GB drives in RAID5 for storage (they're currently less than half the price of 750GB). Though if you're not building until July, 750GB may be more price-efficient.

Hockey scores will be the duty of my laptop, which is scheduled for an upgrade in September on Intel's new 45nm mobile chips.

This is definitely something I'm considering. Though 150GB is still pretty small for HD-encoding use. Perhaps 2 150GB in RAID, plus the two 500 for storage.

Nothing wrong with it, it's very nice. My experience is that Antec's build quality has a slightly cheaper feel than Lian-Li. And with more than a couple hard drives and two long cards (the 8800s), it may be a lot less roomy than its specs suggest.

Antec stock fans are a little noisy, too, but you can replace them with $5 Yate Loons (or Panaflos for better cooling). I've seen some new cases with 25cm side fans, which are probably awesome for cooling and quietness, but haven't ever tried one out.

My experience with Lian-Li vs Antec is the Lian-Lis tend to be significantly noiser.

My old case is an Antec Sonata that I've been happy with -- I've also built several computers for friends with Sonata II and Sonata IIIs and have been quite happy with it.

The P182 seems to be a step up in all directions. Hell, it was designed by the guy from www.silentpcreview.com...he spends his life making awesome computers quiet.

                              Surfing the web.

Gaming (I plan to buy a 15' DVI cable to hook it up to my 42" 1080p Westy, and an audio cable to hook it up to the home theatre).

                              Media (encoding/transcoding).
