Saved europe from the Russians, yes? By twice kicking the crap out of the Russian military while forcing the west to build military forces and getting the US involved in european defense the German military has helped europe in general.

The German military has never been an independant player.

When it was almost totally in force (WWI), war against Russia wasn't particularly necessary to "save Europe" from them. The other time, who knows if they had ever started expanding before the next economic crisis would have crushed them.

In which case we wouldn't need the US over here either.

So many hypotheses. Gotta love it.

Didn't the Nazis have German allies in Finland and Hungary? A few Frogs and Spaniards with some Dutchies, Belgians, and assorted other hangers on as well IIRC.
