With a clear majority in both houses during that time, yielding unprecedented executive power once they gained control of the White hHouse, the conservatives got a lot accomplished. Only ten? Let's see...

    1. Eliminated the federal fiscal deficit
    2. Reasserted US leadership in international trade
    3. Stopped illegal immigration
    4. Ended terrorism and stabilized the Middle East
    5. Reduced dependence on foreign oil
    6. Taught teens the value of abstinence for birth/STD control
    7. Dramatically reduced the size of the federal government
    8. Embraced global warming as an economic opportunity
    9. Restored confidence in government by rooting out corruption
    10. Eliminated unnecessary government intrusion into citizens' lives

In short, they have embraced the traditional conservative values of small government, checks and balances, states rights, individual liberty, and the Bill of Rights. It's no wonder that the US has never enjoyed greater respect in the world community.

The fact that it happened under Clinton doesn't mean it isn't a conservative triumph. How much more of a triumph for them is it that they got a Democrat to do their dirty work? This program has been an unmitigated disaster for the poor and has driven them into the arms of the evangelical church movement (which is where most relief for poor folks is now found--faith based charity and all that), and thus into conservatism. If this is a victory for the Democrats, its the most bone-headed stupid victory ever. Morons!

Clinton did campaign on welfare reform but it took a Repub Congress to get it thru, the Dems weren't gonna give Clinton much even if he did push for it after winning. Did Clinton push for it? I seem to recall the Clinton's attempt to further socialize health care, that failed and the Repubs won the House and thats when it became part of the congressional agenda.

Welfare reform and free-trade agreements are the first things that spring to mind.

                Welfare reform
                PATRIOT ACT
                Defense budget explosion

It's sort of rough to define what is "conservative" and what is a "triumph", though.
