With you predisposition toward hating the two world-class cities on the list, I think you're wise to avoid NYC and London. But a free apartment sure offers a great chance to check them out.
So why did you bother with the poll?Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Yeah, with the rain, all of you can pucker up.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Every "world-class" city I've ever been to has sucked. New York sucks, London sucks, Tokyo sucks. Too expensive and too many people, especially loathsome social strivers who move to the big city so they can pretend to be cosmopolitan sophisticates instead of the everyday folk from a less desireable part of the country that they really are.KH FOR OWNER!

Um, no, but thanks for being utterly wrong again, Cliff.
Population of the greater LA area: 17,776,000
Population of the greater Toronto Area: 5,555,912
Percentage Foreign born LA: 35% or ~ 6.2 million
Percentage Foreign born Toronto: 42.8% or ~ 2.3 million
For its size Toronto is very multicultural but by sheer weight of numbers there are simply more people from more places in LA. Even if foreign born people make up less of the total population there are still 2-3 times more of them then in Toronto not even counting the several million illegals. Any culture or language on Earth can be found there or just about.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

As far as a 'sense of arrogance' goes, your assumption that London would welcome another product of provincial inbreeding with dress sense from 'Rural Lesbians 'R' Us' , ranks fairly highly on the Entirely Unwarranted Arrogant Delusions Scale.
By the way Asher, could you familiarize yourself with the use of the definite article ?

Great cities become great cities because people move there and make things happen there. It's understandable that intense civilisation isn't for everyone, but others see labour-mobility and aspirations of a better life as a good thing. Of course, aspirations are not always realised, but Hicksville isn't always so great either.

"Hicksville" isn't the best place to be; it's second-tier cities like Chicago or Osaka. They have all the benefits of living in a "world-class" city without the overwhelming cost or crush of *******s trying to get their band a record deal. They also have more character; "world-class" cities like New York and Tokyo don't even seem like a part of the country they're nominally the heart of.KH FOR OWNER!
