Japanese news networks have discovered that China has decided to upgrade its mastery of fakery. Not content with simply reproducing brand name knock-offs and bootleg DVDs, the Chinese have decided to knock off Disney...land. Yep, the entire thing.
Reporters took video of a place called Shijingshan Amusement Park with nearly identical rides, attractions, the towering Cinderella Castle, and, most impressive of all, genetically altered versions of Mickey, Donald, and the rest of the Disney gang. Once developers got going with copying Disney, however, they must have figured, "Why stop there?" as there are also cheap looking versions of Hello Kitty! and Doraemon to round out Copyright Infringement Land.
Humorously enough, the president of the park denied any connection with Disney, saying that the Mickey Mouse in question isn't a mouse, but is rather a "cat with big ears." Kids and staff interviewed, however, give up the act by saying the characters all look like Disney and that their performances are based on the authentic Hong Kong Disneyland.

Seriously, a cat with big ears?!? Couldn't they come up with something a little better than that?
