  • confession time: I actually like the movie Independence Day

Bring on the ridicule. You know you want to do it.

Yeah it's on AMC right now. AMC plays lots of good movies now. It's a man's channel. Much better than crappy Spike TV.

Commando was on just before that. Great comedy movie with Arnold Schwarchenegger. And Red Dawn is on Wednesday. Another comedy that I like.

Yes the movie makes no sense. They should have detroyed the military facilities first instead of the cities. But they aren't the smartest aliens.

while I'm at it. Titanic wasn't as bad as people say.

Just because a movie makes a billion dollars, doesn't make it automatically bad.

It's called "Shock and Awe." The aliens were really just trying convert us to democracy afterall.

Maybe the aliens' weapons only worked on monuments...

I agree: Independence Day was a good, fun film, despite the odious presence of Eddie Murphy or whatever his name is.

I watched spider man 3 this night, I thought the scenes of evil spider man walking down the streets like Travolta, checking out chicks and the dacing, were silly, cheesy, unwatchable

(by the difference between evil spider and good spider man, is the evil one sports an emo haircut)

I found that walking travolta scene funny, but I didn't think whats his name pulled it off very well.

I also hated the ending, he quite literally did nothing, he was just whimpering and losing, he used none of his powers against venom, just some vibrating sound. *yawn*. All with the help of his best friend who seemed to do all the work.

They attacked the cities because that's where the people live. The aliens sought to exterminate Humanity and take the planet's resources, not enslave us. This was explained in the scene at Area-51 where the live alien held the scientist hostage and was telepathically melting the President's brain. Yeah, the movie was ok and I hate myself for liking it too.

                          Another self-hater checking in.

It was an OK film, and more than good enough for a Sunday evening of cable consumption. OTOH, I watched American History X. A slightly better film.
