Either way the Turkish army seems to be one of the most trusted institutions in the country. More so then the politicians.
I've read an interesting article lately on the classes the army gives in secondary school. A compulsary 1 hour a week lesson on how the army is the true guardian of the Republic.
So it might come down to indoctrination really
