Oh please. If they left us wondering, people would have been on the message board SCREAMING over how unrealistic it was that Peter survived and some people would try to explain that Sylar did it, but others would be like WTH?

- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
they've introduced several interesting characters--or at least characters with interesting powers--and gotten rid of them within the same friggen episode!
I think this shows that they realize the problem with too many characters.

Dude, seriously? You seriously think, given all the other bull**** they've pulled this season regarding Sylar, that he wasn't responsible for cushioning his fall?
Okay. Avatar/signature bet?
It may or may not have been Sylar, I just suspect there was more going on with that scene that Sylar saving Peter as part of his new outlook on life. Just a hunch.

Thinking of it, Sylar is extremely gullible.
Or maybe he knows direct confrontation with his father is not a good idea until he knows more about what he and his father are capable of, powers wise, and so is pretending to be gullible to buy time and proximity for study.
What he need, is Peter's ability to absorb other's powers. OTOH...
