How can there be two shootings on the same day in the same place, when nothing like this has happened in a very long time, and they not be related?

If the two shootings aren't related, that is the unluckiest ****ing coincidence I've heard of.

If you want to help unemployment, you build fences around all universities and schools, putting an armed guard with a metal detector to check the bags of all who go in. It works in Israel.

It won't happen here. We aren't ready to adopt the seige mentality that has led Israel to such measures.

The 2nd amendment is an anachronism from a time long past, it has no business still being law. Your country was a democracy last time I heard...

My university spans a major road. Many US universities are just a collection of buildings located near each other in a city. That doesn't work.

And I sure hope nothing leads you to adopt such a mentality.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

According to people I know at Tech, there's a rumor that this was a boyfriend looking for his ex situation.
