Kindergartener busted -- yes, busted -- for throwing a tantrum
the teacher should have just smacked her real hard across the face. if she acted like that i doubt her parents ever did anything to discipline her. that whole police deal is crossing the line too far.
THEN make her parents take parenting classes.
This is just the logical outcome of our coddling society. Self inflicted ridiculousness.

i was in mexico for easter. i went to arizona a few weekends ago. i'm going to florida in june. i'm going to hawaii in august or december, we haven't decided yet, or jamaica or the bahamas, i get those two confused.
easter break = sleep in time.
A six year old should know better than that. heck our almost 4 year old throws tantrums but a firm verbal command stops him.
As for the police -- WTF?? Doesn't Florida have any young offender legislation that sets a minimum age to get charged with stuff?
If this child is a handful, I could possibly see the police doing some stuff to try to put some fear into the kid but actual charges just seems weird.
I am also a bit surprised it came to this. I would expect a school to be able to handle a 6 year old without police intervention. Also a teacher should be able to use reasonable force to retsrain anattacker but its probably a result of sue-happy America that she feared doing so.
I tend to be firmer. I was running a scholastic chess tournament when a player that had finished their game started acting up. I instructed the player to leave but they refused with a "what will you do now" look--Without warning I then picked up the chair the child was in and carried him to the spectator area. THat child was quite obedient the rest of the day

Key word should.
Reality, it is all against the law.
