No logical error, but your idea that education or anything else gives you better political views is silly.
Your idea that you can be ignorant of a place's history, culture, and past politics, and still make good judgements about current events there, is quite outstanding.

But then again - you seem to be making judgements about stuff without having knowledge in that field. How does it work out for you?

King Arthur: Well, we all are. We are all Britons. And I am your king.
Foucault: I didn't know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective.
Chomsky: You're foolin' yourself! We're living in a dictatorship. A self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working class...
Foucault: Oh, there you go bringing class into it again.
Chomsky: Well, that's what it's all about! If only people would...
King Arthur: Please, please, good people, I am in haste. Who lives in that castle?
      Foucault: No one lives there.
King Arthur: Then who is your lord?
Foucault: We don't have a lord.
Chomsky: I told you, we're an anarco-sydicalist commune. We take it in turns to be a sort of executive officer for the week...

          I love that scene.

Chomsky has a lot of interesting stuff to say, but he has a lot of uninteresting, facile analysis as well. Everything always has to fit within a specific political framework without much nuance. I liked him a lot more when I was 15...

If anything, the works of Foucault are more of a justification for detached cynicism than an actual blueprint for change. As much as Chomsky was pwned, at least he offers a remotely practical plan instead of mere "observations."
That why I hate Postmodernist fools like Foucault.

Some of Chomsky's political stuff is good, some of it is annoying "it's all the fault of the West, especially the US" nonsense.

It's mostly the fault fo the west, because that's where the power is. To say anything else is nonsense.

Oh what a bunch of crap. Now he's gone from not being an expert to being ignorant. Why do you think this sort of stuff is going to have any effect?

It is beyond me to explain to you the wonders of education, or the incredible importance of knowing the facts and theories behind issues you talk about.

You've driven yourself into the silliest corner ever.

You would do much better to tell us where he has his facts wrong then to just claim that they are wrong because he doesn't have the particular emphasis in linguistics.
