        The only word I've heard to describe west Asians collectively is a racial epitaph which used used in polite society. Other people would simply say Arab, Turk, Kurd, Persian, etc...

            guai lo - in cantonese at least. literally means ghost man. I have a T shirt that has it in pin-yin, and simplified characters, with the pacman ghost on the back. it was a collaborative effort between my chinese (and half white half chinese) friends and is a great conversation starter around chinese people.
