I think I might need one of MY wisdom teeth out. My mother still needs to schedule me an appointment. My back right molar has been hurting like a mofo all day. Gahhh. Also, I have dentistophobia. Well not really, but I get so freaked out when they use those loud tools in my mouth. It makes me cry.
It isnt scary. Once the doctor explained the procedure i felt a lot better. today i went in to get them taken out and it hasnt been that bad. Im a little sore but thats about all. I might also need ot get more gauze.

I hope you dont live in a small town because in big cities the surgeon usually has the ability to apply general anesthetic so that youll be knocked the **** out. I was like you but when I learned I would be knocked the **** out I didnt worry so much.

Anyway I need to take a antibiotic and vicodin.

        Mine were impacted, too.

Sodium barbitol. Though I did wake up during the procedure, I was comfortably numb.

I was prescribed Tylenol 3 (it has codeine).

After I had them removed, I woke up in the middle of that night with my mouth feeling full, like my tongue had swelled up or something. I didn't know wtf was going on. Gagging a bit, I went to the bathroom and had a look in the mirror. Turned out blood had oozed from my wounds and clotted in a big mass. I had a little difficulty spitting it out, as it was still attached. Blecchh.

b etor, I had mine out a few months ago... it's really not a big deal at all. They stick the anesthetic IV in you, you're out in a few minutes, and 20 or 30 minutes later you wake up strangely numb and with a bunch of bloody gauze in your mouth. That's it.

The bleeding takes a while to stop, and may resume intermittently for a couple days afterward. You're not supposed to eat hard foods or drink from straws for about a week or so (to give the holes a chance to scab up and begin healing). They'll give you some good painkillers to prevent much pain at all. It's not an involved process at all... don't worry.

I've had surgeries before. I got my appendix out in January. I just don't like weird, loud noises in my mouth. I can withstand pain, but those noises make me cry.

There's like 100,000 people where I live. Or somewhere close to that I think.

I got mine out two weeks ago. I didn't need any pain killers aside from advil. I also wasn't out the first day either. By day 4 I made a long road trip and ate normal food again. I even had them cut out so it was pretty bad. I don't see why people need pain killers like codeine.

Because in most people's case, there's no space in the mouth for them to come in. It causes crowding of the teeth and pain.

It's one thing if it's a simple extraction, it's quite another if you have to see a plastic surgeon to extract them with a 4 hour operation like I did...

I was out the first day because of all of the anesthetics running through my system...

I had to get mine out because one wisdom tooth was pushing into another tooth. It was weakening the tooth, and making it much harder to brush and floss. The result was my first cavity since I was a little kid. Since I was getting one out, might as well get them all out since the same thing might happen with all of them.

Well, mine was a three hour operation.

Your surgeon must've been incompetent. He was military, wasn't he...

You don't have 3 hours of surgery without gaping holes in your gums.
