It's always fun to walk out with a bit more cash than you walked in with. My first, and to date only, trip to Vegas (though not to a casino) was over New Year's of 2002/3. After some ups and downs at the craps table, I was right around break even for the trip. We were flying back east all day on Jan 1, and before I left I had laid $100 on a four-game NYD bowl parlay (Auburn, Georgia, Texas Oklahoma). Flying put a crimp in my ability to keep up with the scores, but I got home just in time to see Georgia seal it for me by denying FSU a garbage touchdown that would have blown the spread. Once I got that $1100 check from the Aladdin, I pretty much decided I was done betting on football.

Won $800 the other night playing blackjack. Most of it was pure luck. Played a side bet on my hand where you win if you get cards totaling 20. 4-1 for any match, 9-1 if two cards are same suit, 19-1 if two cards are the same, 125-1 if you get two queen of hearts.
Put down $5 and got two queen of hearts. Very sweet.
Strange thing is my luck was up and down through the night until a bunch of Calgary bubbas joined the table I was at. They were dumb, loud and obnoxious, but great good luck charms. And the dealer loved taking their money. He was from Edmonton.Golfing since 67Comment
