      Personally, I couldn't care less about what the Chinese do with the Forbidden City, or what the Americans do with the Vietnam wall.

      I do find it interesting that I've heard a lot of Westerners complain about the KFC at the Great Wall at Badaling, but never heard any Westerner complain about the Starbucks in the Forbidden Palace.

          I presume they have at least one tacky souvenirs shop in there well.
