For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

        It's still inhospitable.

Actually, there will still be a "Stabucks" there, but the store logo will look slightly crappier and the coffee won't taste quite the same; on the other hand, a grande mocha latte will only cost $0.45.

I take it you didn't choose to live there, then.

No work in my field. The grand canyon area isn't the desert you seem to think it is. The rims are both high up (north rim is higher then the south) and the area is dominated by pine trees. More then a bit of snow in the winter. The lower gorge gets hot but there is plent of water, after all it is the river which made the gorge, and people have lived there for thousands of years. None of it is "inhospitable" as you have claimed.

You'll notice I didn't strictly claim that it was the area that was inhospitable.

Why can't we have a Starbucks in the Lincoln Memorial?

There appear to be several very close by.

If the Chinese want to make the Imperial Palace a commercial free zone then I'm all for it. I have big problems if they want Chinese companies to continue opporating there but they outlaw foreign competition.

Yes, it sounds like an campaign to promote local businesses. Remember the lawsuit against the Chinese restaurants who blatantly copied Starbucks right down to the logo.

Just look who is asking for this: "Chinese nationalists"
